🏴‍☠️ Cloud Wars & Digital Surrealism: Goodbye, Yandex? 💾

It’s May 8th. Tomorrow is Victory Day! 🎖️ Today is surprisingly warm, though the forecast for tomorrow predicts thunderstorms. Better than the occasional May snow we sometimes get! 🌤️⚡

Just read some annoying news: Yandex is cutting off Cloud synchronization for free users starting June 3rd. 🚫☁️ It was a great tool while it lasted. I managed to hoard 40GB through various promos over the years, but I’m not about to start paying for a feature that has always been free.

How I’m handling it:

📂 Backed up everything from Yandex Disk.
🖥️ Set up my own private cloud on my server.
👋 Case closed for Yandex storage.

I still have a subscription for Music, but honestly? I might just delete that too. 🎧 Look at Spotify — it’s a nightmare to use in Russia now. You need a "shamanic dance with a tambourine" (VPN) just to log in. 💃 If your sub is from Brazil but your "tambourine" is from the Netherlands, you get zero music. 🇧🇷❌

The era of the free and open web is dying. 🕸️ One by one, services are becoming unavailable or restricted. It feels like we’re living inside a Salvador Dali painting — pure surrealism. 🎨🌀

Maybe it’s time to ditch all subscriptions and fully hoist the Jolly Roger! 🏴‍☠️ If the digital world wants to be weird, I’ll be a pirate.
